This cocktail got 4.5 stars in the Difford’s Guide and it was terrible. I am officially ignoring the star rating from now on and adding my own, not least because it is apparent that Simon Difford hates shooters and loves all the drinks he’s created himself.
The book reads ‘truly the milk of the Gods.’ I don’t know where the this drink is milked from, but met with a God, well, I wouldn’t be serving it.
Here’s the recipe for Bourbon Milk Punch. Please let me know if you can improve on it.
Bourbon Milk Punch
- 1 1/2 oz Bourbon
- 1/2 0z 2:1 sugar syrup
- 4 oz milk (I’m not sure it matters what kind of milk, but full might be the best)
- 1/8 vanilla extract
Shake all the ingredients and strain over ice, or don’t! I promise, I will find you a better milky, bourbon recipe, but I don’t think this is the one for you. It was a little bitter and sickly.
