It’s National Tequila Day: Drink A Tequila Caliente

Happy National Tequila Day! I’d love to join you for a shot, but I celebrated a day early and now don’t feel the greatest today.

However, I did have time to make this awesome Tequila Caliente earlier in the week, after picking up some very reasonably priced Cassis in Lidl (£6.99)

The recipe I first had contained a whooping 100ml of tequila, which is unnecessary. Here’s what I made:

Ingredients

  • 50 ml gold tequila
  • 2 dashes of grenadine
  • 25 ml cassis / black currant liqueur
  • 25 ml lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • Soda water
  • Ice
  • Lime peel to garnish

Equipment

  • 10 oz Collins glass
  • Bar spoon for stirring

Method

  1. Fill a glass with ice
  2. Add all the ingredients minus the soda water and stir with your bar spoon
  3. Top with soda water
  4. Another little stir
  5. Garnish

So simple, so tasty. Dark berries go so well with tequila.

Enjoy!
